Waiting for gifts and waiting for Santa Claus is one of the most important practice on Christmas. Specially the young and innocent kids keenly wait and look for Santa from that small balcony. Gifts by Santa Claus is a tradition, a kind of folk lore that kids always feel excited and enthusiastic about. NORAD Santa tracker was the first such service that used to and still provides full coverage of Santa’s track and journey of distributing gifts on Christmas. This year NORAD Santa tracker, is celebrating their 60th anniversary.
NORAD Tracks Santa started accidentally when a small kid mistakenly called on the secret number of U.S. Air Force Col. Harry Shoup and asked “Is this Santa Claus?” That small voice really touched Harry Shoup’s soul and he started this NORAD Santa tracker service. That answered the phone calls and informed the kids about the whereabouts of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
Today is the 60th anniversary of NORAD Tracks Santa service and for this special occasion Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado has arranged a special service with special volunteers, who will keep the children and the whole media updated on the location of Santa Claus throughout the day and night of 24 Dec 2015.
These NORAD volunteers take phone calls from kids and answer their cute and innocent questions about Santa Claus and gifts by him. So parents will also be quite contented with this service this year.
Throughout these years NORAD Tracks Santa app was powered by google but this year google has launched its very own Santa tracker. Google Santa tracker will show you the exact location of Santa, numbers of gifts distributed and a few other features like gaming etc.
For all those kids and grownups who love Santa and like to follow him this Christmas, both apps are best for you. Have a safe and merry Christmas world!
